Accepting these terms

These terms cover your use of the Santa Paula Concrete website and any work you hire us to do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you go ahead.

If you sign a written contract with us for a specific job, that contract controls wherever it differs from this page.

What we do

Santa Paula Concrete is a concrete contractor in Santa Paula, CA. We build and repair flatwork like driveways, patios, sidewalks and garage floors, along with steps, retaining walls, footings, foundations and related concrete work for homes and businesses in Santa Paula and the cities around it.

The service descriptions on this site are general information to help you understand the work. They aren't an offer or a promise for your property, because every job depends on what we find on site. You can read more about who we are on our About page.

Estimates and pricing

Our on-site estimates are free and obligation-free. We base each estimate on what we can see and measure at your property, the work you describe and current material costs.

Some things only show up once the old concrete is out or the ground is open, such as soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the slab sits on, buried roots, old footings or pipes. If we find something that changes the work or the price, we'll stop, explain it and get your approval before doing anything extra.

Changes you ask for after the job starts, like a larger area, a thicker slab or a different finish, may change the price and the schedule. We'll put those changes in writing before we do them.

An estimate stays good for the period written on it. After that, we may need to update it if material prices or site conditions have changed.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We schedule pours around the weather because rain, high wind and midday heat can weaken a fresh surface. If conditions aren't right, we'll move the pour and let you know as soon as we can, and that isn't a breach of our agreement.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the waiting period while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on, and you agree to keep people, pets and vehicles off it until then.

You're responsible for clear access to the work area, for moving vehicles and belongings out of the way, and for telling us about anything buried on the property that you know of, such as sprinkler lines or private pipes.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us as early as you can. Once we've ordered materials, booked a concrete delivery or started work, you may be charged for those costs as set out in your written contract.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are written in your contract before work begins. Payment is due on the dates listed there.

If a payment is late, we may pause remaining work until the account is current. You're also responsible for reasonable costs we incur collecting an unpaid balance, to the extent California law allows.

Our work and what concrete does on its own

Santa Paula Concrete is fully licensed and insured, and we want you satisfied with every job. Any specific warranty on your project, and how long it lasts, is written in your contract.

Concrete is a natural material, and some cracking is normal. We cut control joints, which are grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, so cracks usually stay where they won't show much. Hairline cracks, small color differences and slight variation in the surface texture are normal and aren't defects.

We aren't responsible for problems caused by ground movement, poor drainage you change after we finish, tree roots, loads heavier than the slab was built for, using the concrete before it has cured, harsh chemicals, or work done by someone else.

Information on this website is provided as is, for general use. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't warrant that it's complete, current or right for your specific property.

Limits on our liability

To the extent California law allows, Santa Paula Concrete isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway during curing, lost income or inconvenience.

For any claim related to a job, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that job, unless the law requires otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under California law.

Resolving a problem

If something about your job isn't right, call us first. Most issues get settled quickly once we come out and look at them together.

If we can't resolve it that way, either of us may take the matter to a court with proper jurisdiction in Ventura County, California, unless your written contract sets out a different process.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page when you use the site or book a job is the one that applies, and changes won't alter a contract you've already signed.
